Butner, NC. March 11, 2025 - The South Granville Water & Sewer Authority would like to announce the launch of the construction segment of the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project (I-85 SSI Project). The project is being lead by the esteemed engineering firm CDM Smith.
The project responds to the southern Granville County region's aging infrastructure, now 80 years standing, and natural growth rate. The current system is nearing capacity.
After an extended bid process, Haren Construction out of Tennessee was selected to support the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Project. It is with great excitement that we prepare to launch this infrastructural upgrade project that will improve many historic concerns faced by local residents and consumers, but also improve our ecological footprint improving sustainability for the entire region.
Stay tuned for details on the Construction Kickoff celebration. Residents will have the opportunity to meet with professionals from SGWASA, CDM Smith, and Haren Construction to learn more about the project and how it will impact Granville County.
