Winter Repair Information

Updated: Jan 29

As winter weather settles in, utility teams generally face heightened challenges, including main breaks and disruptions to critical systems. Cold temperatures and fluctuating weather patterns have been linked to several utility repair efforts in our region.

Lower temperatures can lead to frozen pipes, increased pressure on water systems, and even electrical disruptions due to elevated wildlife interference or storm damage. In colder months, these conditions are compounded by reduced daylight hours and harsher working conditions for the repair crews. Residents are encouraged to report any utility emergencies or outages directly the alerts page. Visit "Utility Alerts" in the footer section of the website to review historic water main breaks.

Please refrain from adjusting or tampering with fire hydrants or other utility equipment, as this can lead to water quality concerns.

Thank you for your patience amidst the repairs in motion and future repairs anticipated with the approaching winter storms ahead. Our service teams are happy to provide emergency repair service for Granville County residents.
