Two Week Look Ahead

Construction will continue over the next two weeks with installation of the 24-inch gravity sewer, 24-inch combined force main, and 8-inch waterline as crews advance toward the existing Joe Peed Lift Station. Work will also include completion of the Ledge Creek waterline encasement and continued force main installation.

Motorists should expect intermittent traffic impacts in active work areas. Flagging operations will occur along Joe Peed Road, West Middleton Drive, East Middleton Drive, and E. Lyon Station Road to safely accommodate construction activities, with temporary lane closures anticipated on E. Lyon Station Road during the force main crossing.

Beginning Monday, July 6, Central Avenue at A Street will be closed to through traffic for up to 30 days to support installation of critical sewer infrastructure. This milestone represents a significant phase of the project and will allow crews to complete work safely and efficiently while minimizing the overall construction schedule. A signed detour will be in place, and the intersection will reopen as soon as construction activities are complete.

Traffic control will be in place, and drivers should anticipate brief delays, reduced travel speeds, and active construction near East Lyon Station Road and West Middleton Drive. Drivers traveling through this area are encouraged to allow additional travel time and exercise caution.

No planned water or sewer service interruptions are anticipated at this time.

Please be advised that noise disruptions may occur during the blasting and construction activities. Work may begin as early as 7:00 AM. Traffic impacts should be expected on multiple streets within the construction area, primarily associated with deliveries, blasting activity, and excavation operations with work ending at 10:00 PM.
