Two Week Look Ahead

8/3/26, 8:05 PM

This week, crews plan to complete the 8-inch waterline, restore the gravity sewer right-of-way, install the 24-inch valve near Will Suitt Road, and continue restoration along West Middleton Drive. Next week, work will include grading along the gravity sewer alignment on Joe Peed Road and beginning installation of the 20-inch force main from the Joe Peed Pump Station. Flagging will be used as needed along Joe Peed Road, East Lyon Station Road, West Middleton Drive, and East Middleton Drive. A lane closure is planned on Joe Peed Road during force-main installation. No utility service impacts are anticipated.

Park Construction crews will continue pipe installation along Railroad Avenue, while Young Construction begins advancing the microtunnel casing, with progress dependent on rock conditions. Blasting remains on hold. Full road closures are anticipated on Laundry Avenue and Railroad Avenue near active construction areas. No utility service impacts are anticipated.

Site cleanup and maintenance activities are planned for 8th Street, in Butner, NC.

Please be advised that noise disruptions may occur during the blasting and construction activities. Work may begin as early as 7:00 AM. Traffic impacts should be expected on multiple streets within the construction area, primarily associated with deliveries, blasting activity, and excavation operations with work ending at 10:00 PM.
