The water main break on near Western Avenue has been successfully repaired, and service has been restored to the affected area. We extend our gratitude to the City of Oxford for their assistance in providing a crucial component for the repair.
While completing the repair, a minor leak was discovered at a nearby fire hydrant. The Authority is currently assessing the need for repair amidst potential excavation plans, while awaiting the necessary parts to address this issue promptly. Crews are coordinating with the fire department to assess the situation.

January 24, 2025 - A water main break has been reported on Western Avenue in the Mount Hope area of Butner. The break has resulted in a loss of water service for one business located on the 400 block of West B Street. To minimize disruptions, water service has been temporarily isolated on Western Avenue. One commercial customer located on the 400 block of West B Street will experience a loss of water service due to the emergency repairs.
While crews are actively working on the repair, an estimated time for service restoration is not yet available. The appropriate authorities have been notified regarding the incident and associated alarms.
